Washington State Human Rights Commission: All Businesses Must Let Men In Women’s Bathrooms (And Vice Versa)

If a man says he is a woman and walks into the women’s business restroom, it is illegal for a Washington State business owner to intervene. Same applies for a woman.  This is the result of a new rule created by the Washington State Human Rights Commission which went into effect on December 26, 2015.

This is the first statewide mandate that forces businesses to cooperate with a customer’s identified gender.

The new Washington state regulation specifically prohibits businesses and schools the ability to work out a different situation that might be agreeable to all involved because it forbids businesses from creating a separate, gender neutral facility for use by those who prefer not to use the bathroom for their gender.
